The film sees Dutch artist Renzo Martens travel through the Congo armed with a camera and an enormous neon sign that reads, in English, ‘Enjoy Poverty (please)’, which he erects at various intervals amid desperately poor Congolese villagers. 　　There’s something incredibly uncomfortable about watching someone with his own agenda filming the tragedy of poverty stricken Africa. He befriends the villagers and interviews them about the difficulty of their situation, their malnourished children and the fact that they barely make enough to get by. 　　They put their trust in him, but his own agenda (to put up his signs in their villages) is entirely foreign to them. Even as he explains to them that their situation is unlikely to change, the bewilderment on their faces is clear. He’s here, what can they do? 讲述了三个有魅力的男人接近香水店员工金敏俊的爱情故事。

清光绪24年，白衣秀才葛行建满怀对新政的拥戴，告别双亲和妻儿前往府城会考，当众朗读自己拥戴皇上新政的策论文章，被收监入狱。出狱后，他走上了出门经商、用财富改变命运之途。葛行健到英国人的洋行工作，后来辞去了工作，前往心中暗恋的谢兰姑娘的发配之地西北兰州。进入了宁夏道地界，石嘴山驿站站长保军让葛行健在石嘴山意外发现了改变他一生命运的重大商机。当时的欧洲，羊毛短缺，而羊毛在石嘴山却贱如泥土。葛利用石嘴山的羊毛大赚一笔。后来葛由贩卖羊毛起家的小买办，发展为拥有自己品牌工厂的民族资本家。1910年，葛捐出巨资支持中山先生的事业。多年后，葛所创立的民丰企业在战争中，因葛拒绝做汉奸，由葛自行焚火毁灭。

讲述了清光绪24年地处徽州大山深处的农家子弟白衣秀才葛行健，放弃了入仕光宗耀祖的虚妄之梦，走上了出门经商、用财富改变命运之途。一个月后，葛带着新的梦想来到商贸繁华的天津，投靠早他一步来天津的同乡好友刘敬祥，开始了在天津的艰难求生求发展之路的故事。
